Hargreaves Home Study Manuals

have been developed specifically for the person, who, for a variety of reasons, finds it difficult to attend a block course.

The manuals are very comprehensive and will provide you with all the necessary knowledge and information you require to successfully sit the OCR Examination.

It contains numerous stage tests to allow you to test your understanding of each section as you progress through the book.

It also has an example practice case study for Unit 4 at the end of the manual.

They can also remain a valuable reference book long after you have completed the course and obtained your CPC Qualification.

They are updated four times a year after each examination date.

Road Haulage National (Covers content for examination Unit 1, 2 and 4)

Road Haulage International (Covers content for examination Unit 6)

To complete a home study course successfully, does require a high level of commitment and determination.

The main benefits of this form of study are that you can complete it in the comfort of your own home and you can study at your own pace.

There is no pressure on you to take the examination until you are ready to do so and are confident of success.

When that time comes if you are within commuting distance from any of our training centres we will be pleased to arrange your examination for you. If you live outside commuting distance we will be pleased to advise you of the address of your nearest examination centre.

If you purchased a home study pack from us and then a change of circumstances enables you to come on an attendance course you would be welcome to join the block course.

There are no formal requirements for entry to the CPC course or examinations. The CPC qualification is at Level 3, (which is comparable to other Level 3 qualifications, eg NVQ Level 3, Advanced GNVQ and A Level).

Therefore candidates will be expected to have numeracy and literacy skills to the same level as well as some prior knowledge or experience of the transport industry.

It is important to note that whilst you are allowed to obtain your International CPC certificate before you have successfully completed your National course, you will not be allowed to operate as an International carrier until you have obtained both your National and International certificates.
