Driver CPCLGV Instructor Course
This 10 day course is intended for the experienced C+E Licence Holder to reach the standard of personal driving and instructional delivery to obtain registration and approval from the Driving Standards Agency.
To participate in this course candidates must have held their LGV licence for at least three years.
Course content:
- Highway Code
- Personal driving and vehicle familiarisation
- Methods of instruction
- DSA guidelines
- Test routes
- Lesson plan layout
- In-cab lessons
The course ends with the candidate taking the relevant tests with a DSA Examiner.
To become a DSA registered instructor the candidate must:
1 - Re-sit his/her relevant LGV licence test and pass to instructor level (pass with 6 points or less).
2 - Instructional Techniques, the candidate will take the examiner on-the-road driver training and teach a selected lesson plan.
