Apprentice

What Is An Apprentice?

Apprenticeships are 'jobs with training'. If you do not have suitable employment you will be helped to find it by our experienced staff.

Apprenticeships aim at a qualification that is based around a national framework.

The framework involves an NVQ and a technical certificate at Level 2 and Key Skills in Application of Number, Communication Skills and Information Communication Technology (ICT) at level 1.

Your employer will provide you with full support and the necessary experience for you to achieve your qualification.

This support combined with the off job training at our training centre in either Leeds or Sheffield will prove invaluable in your success.

How Will I Be Trained?

You will be trained by a well qualified team of tutors and assessors whose job it is to ensure that you receive the highest quality training.

You will be required to attend our training centre on a specified day each week on day release.

An Apprenticeship will take approximately two years to complete but this is purely a guideline and will depend upon your progress and commitment.

You will have an opportunity to progress onto an Advanced Apprenticeship on completion if you are able to meet the requirements of the qualification.

How Much Will I Be Paid?

Your employer will pay you a wage which reflects your position within the company as an Apprentice.

You will sign a written contract with your employer. The contract will set out your terms and conditions of employment. Your wage is part of these conditions of service.

Please note that the National Minimum wage does not apply to apprentices below the age of 19.
